The First Room ?Mature

The first room is small, dreadfully so. You had better not be claustrophobic, as the walls seem to tighten in towards the other end, where the door is.

"This room is much to small for... uhm... the Master," you whisper.

Lucy's face seems to light up, and a smile crosses her face.

"Yes, maybe it is safe on the other side?"

You don't answer, but continue your journey across the small room, which, on account of its size, takes only a few moments. Lucy is following close behind you, her breath rasping quite loudly in your ears.

You reach for the knob of the door, but then Lucy's own hand alights on your shoulder as she stiffles a shriek.

GIRL. YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR ROOM AGAIN. IF YOU'RE WITH THE NEW ARRIVAL...

The voice trails off, if indeed it is possible for such a loud thing to fade.

In hurried haste you spin the knob and swing the door open, taking out Lucy in the process. Swearing under your breath, you turn to see that she has fallen unconcious on the stone floor. Again, muttered curses escape your mouth, the sound of heavy footsteps echoes in the stairwell.

WHERE HAVE YOU TAKEN HIM? END UP A LITTLE ONE, THAT'S WHAT.

You pick Lucy up in your arms, her frail frame quite light but a little cumbersome. You manouver her through the doorway just as a booted foor descends from the stairs.

Once through the door, you slam it behind you, hoping that the Master won't be able to fit through it. Luckily, you see a series of bolts on this side, and you latch them all, though you are still unsure as to whether they will hold should the beast try to break the door down.

Safe for the moment, you're attention turns to Lucy.

"Lucy," you whisper. Then again, louder. "Lucy, can you hear me? Are you alright?"

She stirs a little, a groan escaping her lips.

"It's alright, everything is fine."

"Oh, but it isn't."

Shivers arc up and down your back as the voice echoes behind you. You had forgotten to check the room in your concern, and had left your back to the opposite wall.

You turn, slowly, willing your confidence up to meet whatever greets you.

The End
