Whimsical Story Idea -- Help?

What I have so far:

A basic plot that goes along with the usual cliches of a typical fairy tale: A princess is rescued by a prince, and falls in love with him. But Mr. Prince rescued her by a total fluke, unbeknownst to the princess, and is actually gay!

What do you guys think, and do you have any ideas as to how he could accidentally rescue her from some perilous situation?
