“So, how much money am I getting for this?” Aden asked.
“I don’t know. Derek said he’d pay you, he never said how much. I’m sure it will be quite a lot though,” Angie said.
"It better be. If anyone finds out about this we will both be dead!”
“Calm down, no one will find out!”
“I see him! He’s coming up the ladder.”
“Good. I really want to get out of here!”
Derek came up the ladder and went through Aden’s window, “Hey, Aden, here’s fifty bucks. Thanks a lot.”
“Fifty? I would have been satisfied with like ten! Thanks, Derek.” Aden was excited about the money.
“Let’s go,” Angie said to Derek. Then she looked over at Aden, “Call my cell if you need me, okay?”
Derek went out the window first, and then Angie followed shortly after him. When they both got to the ground they walked to the backyard and laid in the grass. It was about eleven-thirty PM at this point.
"Angie, I really, really like you, but I don’t know if this is working,” Derek tried to explain.
“Are you breaking up with me?” Angie asked.
“No, I’m just saying your family hates me.”
“Well, then let’s hang out with your family sometime.”
“My family isn’t exactly perfect.”
“And you think mine is? Derek, I can’t stand having another date here!”
“Well, what are we going to call what we are doing now?”
“Let’s call it a date.”
Derek leaned in and gave Angie a kiss.
“What is going on out here?” Andrew said as he walked up to Derek and Angie.
“Nothing! We were just talking,” Angie said.
“Calm down, Angie, what’s he going to do?” Derek looked up and saw Alex, Aden, Allison, Aaron, Janna, Suzanna and Lukas walk out the back door. “I spoke too soon.”
Angie looked up and saw her family coming out of the house and said, “What are you guys doing? Aden, does fifty dollars mean nothing to you?”
“You paid your brother?” Allison was shocked.
“What else was I supposed to do, Mom? All of you hate him!”
“Don’t ‘Angie’ me, Mom. I’m sick of all of you guys doing this! Can’t you leave us alone for like two seconds?”
“Angie, he hit your brother.”
“Yeah, that shows how abusive he’s going to be,” Andrew added.
Derek started heading toward his car which was parked in the back of the house.
“Where are you going, Michaels?” Alex asked.
“Home, Anderson,” Derek replied.
“I don’t think so.” Alex swung at Derek and missed. Derek grabbed Alex’s arm and twisted it behind his back then pushed him to the ground. Derek turned around and headed back for his car. Andrew came up behind him and jumped on his back. Derek flung Andrew over his shoulder. Andrew hit his head on the ground really hard.
“Andrew, are you okay?” Alex walked over by Andrew. He didn’t reply, let alone move. “Andrew?” Alex called. “Mom, he’s unconscious!”
“Oh, no, Angie, call an ambulance!” Allison yelled.
Derek felt horrible! He didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt. He just wanted to see Angie, but he was beginning to realize that was getting really hard.
