Mi chiamo ...

Miriam Joy *******

I am sorry. I am not going to tell you my surname. Partly because my parents would probably bite me if I did. :D No, they wouldn't really. They're not vampires. At least, I don't think so ...

Miriam -- Well. It's Jewish. It appears in Exodus, in the Bible, and is "the earliest known form of the name Mary." It means "longed-for child" but can also mean "bitterness" or "rebellion." There are lots of other meanings, I won't go into them. My nicknames have been Mim, Mem, Mrm, Mimmy ... the list goes on. I don't like any of them, really. My parents chose it together but if I hadn't been called Miriam I would probably have been called Catriona - that's the scottish spelling of Katrina, by the way.

Joy -- A fairly self explanatory name, really. Yes, that is my real middle name. Yes, that is my only middle name. Any more questions?

Pseudonyms ...

Jenny Duignan -- Jenny's one of my favourite first names for girls, and Duignan is my grandmother's maiden name. It sounds Irish, which I love, and I use it quite a bit.

Delorfinde Mairim Telcontar -- Bit of a long story, here. Delorfinde's my username on SO MANY websites - it's actually quite ridiculous. Mairim is simply Miriam backwards - doesn't take that much intelligence to work it out. Delorfinde Telcontar is apparently my first and last real name in Elvish, but other translators have told me that really it's Delorfilinde - I put the difference in bold there, so you know!

And that's my name. Not very interesting at all. But, it's me. :D

Anyway, what's in a name? It's just a handle...

So, what's your handle? (A round one, a square one, one that goes down, one that goes up, an emergency exit bar ... ? lol)

The End
