The crowd turns and stares at you.  You have clearly interrupted something.

A beefy man in the middle of the pack breaks the silence. 'I saw your act last night.  It was rubbish.'

A mousy woman next to him adds her opinion. 'You being on fire's pretty good, though.  Maybe work it into your set?'
