What Child is This?

This story is based on the biblical account of Jesus Birth some creative licence has been taken. This book is mainly based on Matthew 1:16-2:23 and Luke 1-2 there are also references to Isaiah, as well as many other books in the bible. (some names may have been changed)

"Have you heard about that prophet, the one that has been speaking near Jerusalem Elian?”  Uriel asked as they were heading out to go to the synagogue.  “Do you believe what he has been saying?”

“Well not really the fact that he thinks he can predict the fall of this great city is beyond me.”  Elian responded.  “Although, I wonder if he's right.  Whenever I am around him, he's talking about things I've never even considered.  Hey, look there he is again talking to the crowd over there.  Should we go and see what he's talking about this time?”

“Well, lets go check it out. I hear him speaking already.”

As Elian and Uriel pushed through the crowd to Isaiah, they heard what he was saying and stopped because something had caught their attention about what he was saying.

“...In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the nations, by the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan—

"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.  You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as warriors rejoice when dividing the plunder.  For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor.  Every warrior’s boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire.  For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.  He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.  The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this."

After this they continued on their walk to the synagogue to pray, “Elian, What do you think he was talking about?  It seemed he was talking about a new King to rule Israel.”

“It sure did although I doubt that’s accurate you can never know for sure whether these guys are real prophets or not.”
