WARNING: Watching The Sunset Can Be A Dangerous Thing To Do
I looked out onto the ocean at the sunset.
Pink.
Purple.
Orange.
My feet dangled off the dock, inches from the water. I could feel the breeze off the water go inside my jeans and make my legs tingle.
I had a sense of peace, just listening to the birds fly across the sun.
Then suddenly I felt something against my back, and I blinked.
Next thing I knew, I was in the water, the light of the sun quickly fading as I submerged under the darkening sea.
'I need to swim.'
My brain finally kicked in. I tried to move my hands, but my wrists hurt as I tried to pull them apart.
Someone had tied them together.
Someone wanted me to die.
