Lola has a new boyfriend.
It’s different this time.
Different because Sam is actually a friend. Of all of ours. He has only ever had eyes for Lola, but we’ve all been friends. We met sophomore year when Sam moved here from Chicago. He’s a hysterical kid — an actor. He’s been the lead in the school play twice now.
He’s sweet too — witty and biting, but sweet. A genuinely good guy.
I see Lola. I talk to her in the halls.
And I only found out that she and Sam were dating when Neleigh told me that Lola had cheated on him.
Cheating on anyone would have been wrong. But cheating on Sam is criminal.
