The year is 4500 A.D. This is the story of Isaac Beckett, a batter Ex-Star Marine Brigadier who has been out of commision for nearly a year after being declared psychologically unstable due to post-traumatic stress. It is also that of Jack McCoy, a young medical prodigy drafted into the Navy, only to become a war hero. Third is Richard Alvitz, a veteran agent for the Impeium who knows all about espionage. The common thread in them all is a drive to fix the Imperium's problems, one bullet at a time.
