Words Can't Cry

Words can say anthing

But words cannot cry

The way that she cried

Late at night

All alone

In the dark

Words can say anything

But words cannot smile

The way that she smiled

When she saw you walk by

Words can say anything

But words cannot glisten

Like the blood

On the floor

As the knife

Cut deeper

Words can say anything

But words cannot die

The way that she died

In mind, and in spirit

Until only a shell

Was left

Empty and cold

Words can say anything

But words hold no power

Words cannot convince her

That life is worth living

Words can not tell you

How much she depends

Upon you to keep going

And how dangerously close she is

To being gone forever

Words can not dig

Deep within her smile

And find the pain that lays

Coating the core of her essence

I see that she suffers

Day after day

And I watch you do nothing

But words can not cry.

The End
