After I left Luke I wondered about the park, as I noticed everyone was closing up shop. I exited the shop and decided to try and find a phone so I could call Ms. Mason to come pick me up.
I was about to grab the street when I felt myself being tugged from behind. When I turned around I saw a blue eyed boy towering over me. It took me a while to catch my breath, "Thank you."
"Almost got plowed over by that truck, " he chuckled. "What's your name?"
I was still a little disoriented, and I had forgotten why I was crossing the street to begin with.
After a few seconds I replied, " I'm star, and you are?"
"Jacob," he says extending his hand.
"Nice to meet you," I say as I pull my hand back.
"So where you headed? It's about to get dark soon," he asks.
"Oh, I was on my way to work," I responded quickly hoping he wouldn't ask where.
I saw a bus stopping across the street, and I threw him a waive as I headed that way.
" That's my bus, " I called behind me.
I entered the bus and pulled out my emergency money from my pocket. I inserted $1.25 and then took a seat in the back. I wasn't sure where I was going, It was like I had amnesia. I felt sleepy so I leaned my head against the window and drifted off.
"End of the line miss," A voice boomed over the intercom waking me from sleep.
It was already dark as I stepped off the bus. I had no Idea where I was or what time it was. I started walking towards the first lights I saw. When I approached it seemed to be a strip mall of some sort. There was a Pizzeria, laundry mat, Subway, dollar store, and on the far corner a bar called Spinners.
Everything else seemed to be closed up already except the bar. When I approached the corner I realized it was not a bar, but a gentleman's club. I reached in my pocket for my ID, but came up empty. I must of dropped it fleeing for the bus earlier. I started to walk towards the alley that lead behind the club when a voice stopped me.
"Hey darling there you are, your late come get dressed," the chubby woman spoke.
"Who me?" I asked confused.
"Yes sugar, your the new dancer AL sent over aren't ya?" she questioned.
I sat there confused for a moment, took a deep breath and walked toward her. I straightened up my back a bit, and swished my waist as I walked towards her. I fixed my hair as I drew closer.
"I'm Charlotte," I said extending my hand with confidence.
"I don't care what your name is honey, your up next lets go,"she demanded.
