"Day one. Case number 4214. Detective R. Adams investigating the disappearance of 24-year old Krystal Ohnis. Eyewitness accounts claim -"

The wooden door into Detective Rosemary Adams office swung open as a plump and ageing man strolled in.

"Detective, why are you still here? You are meant to be at the crime scene." Captain Lowe surveyed the detective slowly as she sighed and stood, clicking her tape recorder off. Pushing herself off from leaning on the desk, she turned to face her superior and pushed the one loose strand of auburn hair out of her eye.

"I was at the crime scene nearly two hours ago, Lowe. Already interrogated four eyewitnesses, including a..." Rose glanced back over her shoulder at the open notebook on the table. "Ms. Theresa Thackery, who said that she saw young Krystal at the Starr petrol station. She was 'chatting with a guy, being all flirty'. The next thing she knew, Krystal and the man were gone. She didn't think anything of it until the news report this morning."
