she meant hope

i remember when i met her.

it was a cool, cloudy day and

i had struggled.

before the sun had come up

i had cried,

not able to sleep.

one thought kept

rushing through my mind.

no one loves you. no one cares.

rubbing my arms,

i felt the soft fabric

of the one shoulder top

i had slipped on

earlier that morning.

i heard a soft voice behind me.

turning around, i barely spoke

before she blurted,

“i’m sara. would you mind

if i walked

with you today?”

to me she was someone

to help me get away

from you, Ace.

to me she meant

i laughed.

how could i be

so stupid?

The End
