After much too long, I forced myself to wake up, only to find myself in the arms of a man running. With a yelp I jumped out of his arms and fell onto the floor with a thud. He gasped.
"Are you alright?!"
"Stay away from me! I'm warning you!" I scream, struggling to get up in such pain and crawling backward. I feel at my neck, only to notice that a long, thin slice is across it, covered in blood. I wasn't good with blood, I was too squeamish.
The man put his hands up in surrender, slowly walking towards me, "I promise not to hurt you." he whispered soothingly.
"That's a lie. You're just like all the other men trying to-" I cut short, not wanting to say it. Another bullet of pain shot through my body, making me scream in agony and bend over.
"Please let me help you! I'm not like the other men! I got there and fought them off of you! Please, you're hurt! Just let me help!" I read his eyes. He didn't look like he was lying, I could tell. I froze, the only sound in the forest was my heavy breathing and a few singing birds.
He was tall, a lot taller than me I noticed and he wore an army outfit and a dirty pair of black boots. A number of badges hung on his pocket. Was he a cadet? He looked smart enough to be one. I eyed him up and down, wondering if he did this slice on my neck.
With a shake of my head, I breathed,"Fine, just...let me sit down somewhere..."
