Victoria: Don't Say Anything

We were waiting for everyone to gather in the living area. Dalton was gone to the fridge, and I watched. His hair was a deep navy blue this evening.

My snakes wriggled under my hood, which I was wearing tonight because there were so many people coming and going, and I gently patted them to try and settle them down. They knew I was nervous.

Taking a deep breath, I stood up from the couch and followed Dalton to the kitchen.

He glanced over his shoulder at me. "Do you want anything?"

I shook my head, my throat too dry to speak.

He took a can of lemonade from the fridge and closed it, turning fully towards me now.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

He took a swig from his can and looked past me, into the living area. "Looks like everyone's sitting down. Wanna head in?"

Okay. This was it.

"Dalton, wait, I have to tell you something," I stammered quickly.

He nodded calmly. He was calm?! God damn it! Here I was, almost ready to faint, and he could just stand there and look amazing...

Crap, he was waiting for me to speak. What do I say...?

The snakes were whispering something into my thoughts. Don't say anything... they were saying.

That was when I stepped towards him, got onto my tip-toes, and planted a kiss on his lips.

The End
