Parked cars piled up the hill matching like a guessing game to each terraced house. Each different and each unique, However, each one shimmered slightly in the setting sun and orange blankets of sky that lay behind them. Fighting the light, the houses; blocked out as much colour as they could, in their attempt to make the whole world grey...
The entire street was now fully shadowed accept for the light that seemed to live and last forever, shining onto one garden wall...

"I'll be out in a minute! Just getting my pyjamas...and I won't forget my toothbrush like i did the other night!" Shouted Kat from inside her house. The boom of her feet running up the stairs felt as loud, in Tracy's head, as the beat of her heart as she was left in silence, being swallowed up by the midsummer evening's dimming shadows that made her feel like she was drowning. Drowning even more than she already was with the sea of madness and battle of emotions inside her head, that was Jack.

Sat at the opposite end of Kat's old rickety garden wall, looking down nervously, he fiddled with his phone as if the sound of  it's casing sliding open and shut would fill the empty gap of words unsaid that lay between them.
