Ulius
(Ulius is the name of the protagonist: the 'still body'. This is set in medieval times, including mythological creatures aswell as humans.)
Lightning flared.
A warm stench of singed material filled the air. The rain thundered down, hammering the hard ground with relentless consistency. With the winds will the rain changed direction ferociously, beating against any obstacle with daring enough to appose it. The sky continued to darken ominously, and although only midday, the suns light and warmth were losing the battle against the clouds opposing entities. The storm surged on, desperately trying to reach new heights of viciousness in its attempt at tearing apart the wondrous work of Mother Nature.
As this battle between good and evil reached its climax, a new battle arose. Akin to the two forces, life fought death.
A body lay sprawled, spread eagle amongst the dying weeds of the forest of Pacificaterra. Ancient oaks protected it against the onslaught of the storm, although rain managed to leak through on occasion, landing too gently to awaken the lost soul from its peaceful sleep. Drenched in shadow, the body didn’t stir.
Hours passed. The storm began to calm.
Still, the body lay there. Still, it did not move. A howl echoed from somewhere in the east; a hungry, desperate call. A shriek of anger answered it. The moonlight threw his face into sharp relief, revealing it handsomely savaged, covered in sweat and blood. Two twin Saparas, similarly swimming with blood, were held loosely within his hands. The smell of battle greatly overrode that of singed material. The only sound punctuating the deafening silence was that of oncoming voices.
And death.
