Two short poems for the start of May
Two for May Day
For Beltane (May Day)
Dance the dance of May again,
And celebrate a glad Beltane,
But maid be wary and be nimble,
Remember - that pole's a phallic symbol.
Happy May Day, and Happy Beltane
Happy May Day, and Happy Beltane,
Smile in the sunshine, or laugh at the rain,
Whatever the weather, keep joy in your day,
And honor the Good Earth for bringing the May.
