Chapter 29 -The End

“Wow that's a lot of people.” We all stood behind the curtain. I had decided to peer out and see what was waiting for us. I spun around to face Drake, biting my lip.

“I changed my mind. I am super tired. I think I will go home now.” I started to walk off when Drake grabbed me.

“I don't think so princess.” I turned on him again with pleading eyes. He just shook his head and pushed me away from the exit. I stumbled a few steps before catching my balance. Glaring at the back of Drake's head, I picked us my bass guitar. Jayden, Alec, and Celestial were already waiting for us. They had managed to grab the seat right in front of the stage. Sarah was sitting at a table nearby, saving seats for Mr. Cole and my mom.

A man about the same age as my mom walked through the curtain to the front of the stage. I could hear him clear his throat and step in front of the microphone.

“Alright! The band is here, everything is working, and there is a nice sized crowd. Who is ready to rock?” It was deathly silent outside. After a few more tries to get the crowd to cheer, the man finally gave up. He walked back through the curtain, shaking his head.

When he noticed us, he gave a small smile. “Tough crowd,” he muttered before walking away.

“See? They didn't even cheer! They always cheer!” Drake shook his head at me and gave me a look.

“Since when do you care what people think?” I stopped my internal rant and tilted my head. Huh, he was right. I didn't care. So what if they didn't like us? We still got to play. Besides they will talk about our music, even if it's horrible.

“Alright, let's get out there and play some music!” I grabbed my bass and started to walk towards the stage. Drake grabbed the back of my shirt as I touched the curtain. I scowled and glared at him.

“We have another band playing before us. You can't just go walking on stage. Don't you hear the music?” I paused and tilted my head to the side.

“Oh, that is what that annoying background noise was. I got it.” I sent him a smile and sat down. He rolled his eyes and looked at the curtain. Turner was sitting in a corner, humming lyrics under his breath. I watched Drake, noting how tense he was.

The background music died down. I looked up at Turner. He nodded, letting us know to get ready. I grabbed my case and closed my eyes. Maybe I would feel better if I kept them closed. I walked a few steps in the direction of the stage. The curtain brushed past my face. I couldn't hear any sound. No cheering, or booing. Just silence.

Suddenly, I hit the stage wrong and tripped. My eyes opened and I looked around. Laughter erupted from around the stage. Drake and Turner helped me up. I blushed and glanced at the ground.

“Don't freak out so much. I think you just helped us out a lot.” I looked at Drake. He gave me a wink and started to play.

We went through four songs. They continued to cheer us on the whole time. Whenever a new song started, I would relax a little more.

“Twin Trouble, Twin Trouble!” I laughed and gave Drake and Turner each a high-five. We did it!

As we were walking off the stage, a woman pulled turner away to talk to him. Drake and I gave each other confused glances before packing up our band equipment. We carried it to my truck. Celestial, Alec, and Jayden came and met us outside.

“That was awesome. You should have seen everyone. It was so hard not to cheer.” I gave Celestial a blank look.

“The guy kept telling us not to cheer for you guys, make you sweat.” I blinked. Stupid person. Almost gave me a heart attack.

“That makes sense,” Drake muttered looking to the back door. One of the boys that had been leaving the building noticed us and walked over.

“Where is Turner,” the boy asked. He was shaking. I looked him over.

“You must be his boyfriend. I was wondering when I got to meet you. He is still inside. Now, before we accept you. I need proof that you are crazy.”

He scratched the back of his neck. “Um... Pandas?” I looked at him with wide eyes. “D-did I say something-”

“I love pandas! You are hereby accepted into the gang!” Before he could respond, Turner walked through the door. A huge smile was plastered on his face. It looked like he was ready to bounce with excitement.

“You will never guess what just happened. That woman that was talking to me. She worked for a recording studio. She wants to give us a try!”

My eyes widened and I let out a laugh. “Yes! We did it!” I started jumping up and down. Turner let his gaze shift over to the boy that stood awkwardly outside of our group.

“Freddy? What are you doing here?”

“I.. uh... Was looking for you. I will leave if you want.”

I slung my arm over his shoulder, “No need for that. You are one of us now. You can come whenever you want. I have accepted you. You will never be harmed in anyway ever again.” I placed a hand over my heart.

He blushed and thanked me. Turner and Freddy walked off. Drake followed shortly after, spotting a cute girl. Jayden grabbed my around the waist, pulling me closer.

“That was amazing. You had a lot of fun up there didn't you?” I bit my lip and nodded.

“Yep, Now everything is perfect.” he raised an eyebrow.

“Everything?”

I thought about it, “Well there is one more thing I want.” Before he could speak, I pulled him closer. Our lips met and I closed my eyes. The perfect day.
