Chapter 26

Even before first period ended, rumors were flying. The crazy Skye twins had somehow gotten the two new hot brothers. Chloe was sulking in one of the corners. Not used to having so little attention on her, she started some evil sounding rumors of her own to get the focus back on her. It didn't work, and every time they passed a new mouth, the rumor would change just a little.

The bell rang and I hurried out of the door as fast as I could. Running straight into someone that was waiting in front of the door. Getting ready to tell them to back off, I sucked in a breath.

“I thought you would be here first. Come on, let us go to our next class.” Jayden grabbed my hand and pulled me towards class. I already had my books for this period as well. Now I just had to figure out how to get my books next time and avoid the mob of angry girls at the same time.

“No public displays of affection Miss Skye.” I glanced up to see Mr. Cole. I smiled and waved at him.

“Did we switch classes?” I looked around in confusion.

I heard a sigh. “History and English have been switched. I thought your mother would have told you that.” I paused and tried to think. I do remember my mom mentioning something about school yesterday. Could that be what she was asking? Celestial and I had been watching a movie, and I had kind of tuned her out.

“She might have said something like that.” He sighed and told me to sit down. I did so and stared out the window. If I looked anywhere else I would either receive glares from girls or wolf whistles from boys. I wonder why they call them wolf whistles. It's not like wolves can whistle, can they?

“Can you answer my question?” blinked to see Mr. Cole watching me with impatientce.

“Uhm... No?”

“Another sigh, “Would that be because you were not paying attention or because you don't know the answer?”

“Definitely the first one. Maybe the second, depending on what you asked.”

“I asked when the Civil War started.”

“Oh, that's easy. Eighteen-sixty-one.” He nodded and went on to ask the rest of the class similar questions. The lesson passed quickly and I walked outside.

“Hey you! How dare you take one of the two hottest boys at school. Take this.” Before I could react, pizza sauce was dumped on my head. I glared at the blonde bimbo in front of me before pulling out a pencil. I started to chase her.

“Both of you stop right now. What is going on?” I looked up at Mr. Cole. He glared at us.

“She is trying to stab me with a pencil! She is crazy and deserves to be sent to a mental hospital.” The blonde girl looked at me. I grabbed my arm and started chewing on it.

“See? Oh my goodness, she is gross.” Mr. Cole sent her up to the office to explain her side of the story to the principle. He then placed a hand on my shoulder.

“Let us go talk to your mother.”

“You know, I feel very nervous about this. I guess it's because every time you take me to the office, it's because I did something to you. This will take some getting used to.”

“What will?”

“Our peace treaty. It is weird. My arm tastes good. I like pizza sauce.” He chuckled and continued to lead me to the principle's office. Mr. Cole opened the door and walked in first. I heard her ask what was wrong.

“It's about one of your daughters.”

“Oh no,” I heard her moan. “What did Destiny do this time?” I scowled when I walked into her office. The blondie wasn't anywhere to be seen.

“That little...” Mr. Cole glared at me, “...Girl didn't come up here,” I asked as a question instead of a statement. He nodded and turned back to my mother. He explained everything while I stood looked at the carpet nervously. A giggle caused me to look up. My mother and Mr. Cole were making those weird love faces at each other. I covered up my eyes and wailed.

“None of that while I am in here please. It's gross. I'm going to be sick.” I heard a laugh and looked up. Mr. Cole was laughing. At me. “You can laugh? I didn't know that!” He shook his head and continued to talk to my mom. I kept my hands near my ears just in case.

“I will talk to Martha and her parents tonight. They are coming in anyway for a conference. Here is an extra set of clothes. Why don't you go and take a shower in the gym bathrooms?”

“Thanks mom. Oh, Mr. Cole only has a few minutes until the next class. Don't get to busy.” I sent a wave out behind me and closed the door.

“She is something else,” Mr. Cole said. I heard a groan.

“You have no idea.” I smiled and whistled all the way to the gym. There wasn't another gym class for another two or three hours so I could take as long as I wanted. Which was much longer than usual, considering the angry mob that must be searching for me. I started the shower and stepped in, washing the yummy pizza sauce off of me.

The End
