"So let me get this straight, you did not respond in any way? You just let her leave? What the hell is wrong with you?" If it wasn't for me squeezing the life out of Alec's hand, Jayden would have probably been hurt. Instead, I tapped my foot impatiently, waiting for Jayden's answer.
"I dot know why I didn't say anything. I meant to tell her, I just couldn't." I growled in irritation.
"This is what you are going to do. Take Alec and I home, then take the car and find her. If you don't I will staple you to the wall by your ears. Got it?" He gave a feeble nod and stood up. I felt a hand on my back.
"Don't worry it will be fine. They will be together before the weekend ends." Alec sent me a reassuring smile. I returned it and walked outside. The sun was already starting to go down. It would be almost impossible to find Destiny then. She almost blended into the night.
I tried to guess where she would be. Nothing came to me. I took another deep breath. Maybe I could figure somethig out when I calmed down. Getting worked up won't help anything.
Alec led me to the car, I slid in and glared out the window. Jayden tried to talk to me but I ignored him. I was still too furious to respond.
After driving Celestial and Alec home, I drove around without any destination in mind. I couldn't figure out where Destiny would go. It would give me time to think up what to say to her though. She wouldn't listen to anything I had to say. How would I make her listen?
An image formed in my head and I turned around. She would be at the park of course. That's her favorite spot. A crash of thunder sounded, followed by lighting and heavy raindrops. Just as I parked near the playground, the rain lessened up. I slipped on my hood and started looking for the familiar face.
I looked near the forest, the slide, even the puddles, but I couldn't find her anywhere. Ready to give up on this area, I neared the swings. A screech caused me to look up. Destiny sat on the swing, pushing it back and forth with her toe. Taking a deep breath, I headed towards her.
"May I sit here?" She gazed through her hair before giving a short nod. I sat beside her, also swinging.
"Im sorry, I shouldn't have done that. We can still be friends though right?" Destiny moved her soaked hair away to look at me. Her voice seemed quieter than usual. Her dress stuck to her skin, little trails of water fell off the ends. The make-up she had been wearing earlier had been smeared slightly and her hair was flat.
"I don't know if I can still be friends with you Destiny," I spoke in a whisper. She bit her lip and watched the water slide off her dress.
"If that's what you want."
"Its not what I want. I like being friends with you, but I don't know if we can do it. Maybe we can..." she glanced up at me before narrowing her eyes, muscles tensing up.
"I don't need you pity ok? I get it, you don't like me. Whatever. Don't pretend you do just because I said I did."
"I am not..." she stormed off before I could finish. I moved away from the swings and started to chase her. Stubburn girl, why wont she listen? I caught up to her. Destiny tried to speed up but I caught her wrist.
"No, not until you listen." She struggled for a moment before sighing.
"Fine, go ahead and say whatever it is you need to say so bad. It wont make a difference anyway." Without thinking, I ran my fingers through my hair. This girl could be so frustrating. Now how do I make her listen?
She tapped her foot impatiently.
"I don't pity you. I pity the person who decided to fall in love with you."
"And who would that be?"
"Me." She licked her lips and turned away. At least it threw her off.
"Ok, I listened, can I leave now?" I let go of her wrist and took a saftey step back. She glared before stalking towards her car. She reached into bag where she stored her keys. After looking through the bag, Destiny looked up and glared at me.
"Where are my keys?" I shook the keys and raised them up.
"Give me my keys!"
"Why don't you come and get them?" Destiny came towards me. I took another step backwards. She chased me through the park before finally catching me. After knocking me down she went for the keys again.
"Did anyone tell you how fast you are for a shortie?" Ignoring me, she went for the keys again. I has them as far away as possible.
Destiny gave up and glared at me. "What do you want?"
"I want to know if you forgive me?"
She hesitated, "for what?"
"For this," I leaned forward and placed my lips on hers. She froze, thrown off gaurd. I pulled away and rested my head back on the ground. After socking me in the arm, she stood up.
"Aren't you supposed to act like a gentleman?"
"Please, if I acted like a gentleman, I never would have got the girl."
"How do you know you have the girl?"
"You stopped trying to melt me with your gaze." She blushed and truned away.
"Whatever. Can I have my keys back yet?" I tossed them to her.
After opening her car door she called out, "do not tell anyone!"
"I can't tell anyone? Why is that?"
""Just wait 'til Monday. I don't want to deal with my sister's squeal all weekend." I nodded and stated it was a deal. After blowing her a kiss, she shot another glare and slammed the car door. I laughed, so much fun to mess with her.
