The grass tickles my ears as I slowly adjust to my surroundings.

The four of us are lying down in the long grass, just off the public footpath.

We've wasted an entire hour with sleep. Wasteful, mundane, ordinary sleep.

We sleep every night, and yet we can't get enough.

Sitting up, I frown as I see my parents asleep, but my sister sitting against a tree with a smile on her face.

She doesn't seem too bothered that we've lost an hour.

'What's the matter Sleeping Beauty?' she asks jokingly. 'Missed out on beauty sleep?'

The End
