One
I strummed my fingernails against the table, as there were nothing better to do. My watch said it was 10 o'clock, reminding me that my parents would punish me if I didn't get back in ten minutes.
"Gwen?" I looked up at the person who had said my name and stood up to hug him.
"Avery! I didn't expect you to be here, school's not gonna start till next month!"
"I came to see you. My mum let me come early. Surprise!" He grinned and pulled away to look at my face. Probably to see if I was smiling too. Which I was.
"That's awesome! Where are you staying?" I asked.
"I haven't figured that out, yet. I just got off the train."
"Well, you're always welcome to stay at my house. My parents won't like it, but I love making them mad." I giggled and he hugged me again.
"Sure." He whispered in my ear, causing my body to shake in a shiver.
We walked back to the entrance to King's Cross and exited, our hands entwined.
