Every year, the science fiction and comic book convention rolled into town.  This year was no different, except that instead of wearing your traditional ensign's outfit, you figured that it was just about time for a promotion to lieutenant.  You just finished watching a presentation on the evolutionary history of tribbles (way off!  Everyone knows they used the wrong genetic marker for their phylogenetic study), and you were making your way to the snack stand when the glimmer of a high-heeled woman in a princess Leia bikini caught your eye.  In her hands was a big placard, pure white except for the message "ROUND 1".
