I told Jake I had something going that I couldn't talk about on the phone but I guaranteed that it would be worth his time.
"You won't be sorry Jake, as Custer said,"Hurry, bring packs!" and if you have any "protection" bring everything you have, by the way, you still living in Staunton."
"Yeah man, where you at?"
"I'm out here in Deadwood South Dakota, can you make it out here?'
"Yeah, no problem, look, I've got some things to wrap up here, give me a week and I'll be knocking on your door."
"I'll be waiting for you."
The women were curious about the device I was talking into,
"It's called a telephone, invented in 1876 making it's debut at the Centennial fair in Philadelphia. What you see here is one hundred and thirty odd years of improvement."
I went on to describe the modern telephone and what you could do with one both women seemed impressed.
So it looked like we'd be hunkering down here for a week, waiting for Jake, I asked the ladies if they wanted to go see what modern Deadwood looked like, but they indicated that possibly later, the whole business of living here in the future was going to take a little time to get used to, so we'd taking things slow for now. Montana had been asking about the device in the living room with what looked like a black window, I was trying to come up with a way to explain Television, but I couldn't put it off any longer.
"Ladies, have a seat, Montana has been asking about what you see against the wall over there, it's going to be tough, but I'm going to give it my best shot."
