The bird was gone. Quietly cursing myself and it, I wrenched the door open further, and a waft of cool air blew at me. On the other side of the door, a massive cave towered above me, I could see all the way to the ceiling, which must have been three hundred feet above me. I couldnt see where the light was coming from though. It was weird, like having no shadow. The ground was dirt, crunchy under my sneakers as I stepped through the door.
It slammed behind me, I could see from this side that it was heavily carved. I stepped foward cautiously, I wasnt feeling dizzy anymore, so I took that to be a good sign. There was nothing in this cavern, a flat floor, and the walls curved up into a huge dome. I stood in the center and looked up. Next thing I knew, black dots were clouding my vision and I fell to the floor in a crumpled heap.
