I've never been very good at first days of school, but this is a new year, a new start and a new me. I am going to be confident and witty and make lots of new friends. I guess my newfound confidence comes from having Sparkle and Ebony there.
But from my experience three is always a bad number for a group of friends, someone is always left out. I'm not going to be the one sitting alone while Ebony and Sparkle become best friends, which doesn't mean I'm deserting them, I just think we should have a bigger social circle.
I stand in front of my wardrobe for ages trying to decide what to wear. I finally settle on a short, gothic looking black skirt, black sweater and pile my arms with bangles and bracelets that I find on my desk. It's not the most exciting outfit in my wardrobe but I don't want to stand out too much. As Ryan says, it could be dangerous.
He takes us to school and parks in the student lot in front of the main building. After my last journey with him I have no idea how long it has taken us or where we are.
We stand there in the lot looking up at our new school with hundreds of students milling around in front of it. We link arms and walk up towards the front door, Ryan following behind us.
