My niece is 10.
Hannah called me
asking me
time and time again
if I'll ever come see her.
My second niece
is Kendall Jade.
She is five and asks me
over and over
if I'll ever come home
and see her guinie pig Mo.
I choke.
I tell them that I'll be back
just in time for
well, something.
Getting taller,
and watching boys.
Wearing make up,
not asking for toys.
Calling on their own
expensive 3g cell phone.
Birthdays and laughs,
and pain and death.
I'm no where in sight
helplessly USAF.
