Morgance had been painting her toenails in her bathroom, minding her own business, when the bottle of red nail polish had fallen to the floor and shattered.
Red nail polish oozed everywhere.
Lisha, who had been in the next room, had yelled a foul word before attempting to clean up the mess, but Morgance had backed up slowly, paralyzed with fear.
The red nail polished had, for a moment, looked so much like blood...
While Lisha swore her mouth off at Morgance's clumsy mistake, Morgance had doubled over and threw up into the shower. Lisha, even more irritated, had screamed something that hadn't registered in Morgance's mind, then stalked out of the bathroom, muttering and shaking her head.
Still trembling now, Morgance was kneeling behind the toilet, still in the same position she'd been in when Lisha left the room. Squeezing herself as far behind the toilet as she possibly could in an attempt to hide away from the world, Morgance shuddered and hugged her knees to her chest.
Morgance's head jerked up when an announcer's voice blasted over the intercom. But the words were drowned out by the screams Morgance heard in her head - the screams that somehow correlated with the red nail polish...
Morgance felt her stomach lurch, and she was barely able to keep the bile from rising in her throat. She just wanted to see Rune...
Standing, Morgance walked on shaking legs over to the dresser in her room. Lisha had left for the meal, no doubt, meaning that Morgance was all by herself. Sighing, she ran a hand through her hair before picking up a pad of paper and a pencil.
Please, come here. I need you. I think I've remembered something from my past.
Shuddering, Morgance opened the door to the hallway and waited until a staff member passed by.
After handing the note to the staff member to deliver it to Rune, Morgance locked herself back up in the room. She went back to her place behind the toilet. From her vantage point, she could still see the red nail polish.
