These I Have Loved
Squeezing my black lab's saggy jawls
Being barried in the hot California sand
The passion of a first kiss
The comforting embrace of my mother, easing a broken heart
The silly moments only my life long friends will appreciate
The excitement and wonder in watching a new movie
Laughing so hard at something so stupid it makes your eyes gush and stomach burn.
Dancing when nobody's watching
Watching balloons float way in chilled November wind
The hope in a brand new life, even if it's screaming its lungs off
The sparse moments that you know you're the happiest you'll ever be and absolutely nothing could make it better
If only they lasted forever.
