Chapter 2

Saturday had come faster than she had expected, but she was glad.  Today was her date with Lucas.  He texted her that he would pick her up around 11.  They were going to go to Bella Terra to go see a movie.  Hanna didn’t know what movie, because he refused to tell her, but she was glad that they would be together.

She had gotten up at 9:30, enough time to get her self all cute.  She had picked a burgundy colored sweater with dark jeans and some tan colored boots.  She had her long, blond hair down to her lower back.  She had naturally wavy hair, but she had straightened her hair so it looked nicer with the outfit.  She had put on her make-up and had around 15 minutes to relax.

She got a text from Lucas saying that he was on his way to pick her up.  She all of a sudden got nervous.  What if the date didn’t go as she had hoped?  She didn’t have time for that.  He was coming to get her and take her on a date.  When she pushed those bad thoughts to the back of her mind, she let all the good ones come forward.  What if they kiss, she wondered.  She was all ready with her purse in hand when she got the text saying he was there.  Luckily nobody was home anyway.  Her mom was at work and her sister was at their dad’s.  She grabbed her keys, locked the door and went out to meet him.

It was a pretty cold day, it even looked like rain might be coming.  She hadn’t brought a jacket with her.  She waved that thought off and hurried to his car.  She jumped in the front seat and they were off.
“You look nice.” Lucas said acknowledging her super cute outfit.

“Thanks.  Not too shabby yourself.” Hanna said with a giggle.

They made it to Bella Terra fairly quick.  When they parked he got out and

opened her door before she could do it herself.

“You know you don’t have to do that for me.” She said as she got out of the car.

“I know I don’t have to, I want to.” He said closing the door behind her.

“So what movie are we seeing?” She asked.

“I thought we might see Catching Fire if that’s okay with you.”

“That’s perfect.  I haven’t seen it yet.”

“Then I guess that means that I made the right decision.” He said with a smile.

They made their way up to the ticket counter and he paid for the tickets.

“Thanks for paying for the tickets.” She said as they walked into the theater.

“No problem, I want you to have a good time.” Lucas said

“What would you like?” The guy behind the popcorn stand asked.

“We will have a large popcorn with butter, and two waters please.” Lucas asked very politely.

“That will be $14.38.” The guy at the counter said.

As Hanna was going into her purse to grab her wallet, Lucas took the wallet from her hand and paid with his money.

“You know I could have paid.” She said as they were walking away from the counter.

“Ya, I know.” He said putting her wallet back in her purse. “I don’t think it’s very gentlemen like to let you pay for anything on a date.”
“You’re a pain in the butt, you know that right?” She said giving him a flirty smile.

“I know.  I hear it from my mom all the time.” He said returning the smile.

They found the theater and found two perfect spots right at the top. They enjoyed the previews, and when the lights went down he put his arm around her shoulder and naturally her head fell into his neck, and that’s how it stayed the entire movie.

When the movie finished, they walked to Starbucks and Lucas knew exactly what she liked, a venti caramel frappuccino.  He had seen her walk in his living room with that in her hand for many years now.  She insisted that they share it, because he was going to order the same thing.  They got the drink and sat at a table for about a half an hour just sitting there talking and laughing about stupid things that had happened over the years.

They finished their Starbucks and walked back to his car.  They had both relaxed and weren’t so nervous with each other anymore so the conversations just came naturally to them. Hanna knew her mom  and sister would be gone all day, so Lucas walked her up to her door.

“Hey, can I use your bathroom?” He asked as they got to her door.

“Ya, sure. Just beware of the cats. They are vicious.” She said smiling and unlocking the door.

“AH! I’m getting attacked by a cute little kitty!” He said throwing his hands up.

They both stood there laughing for a minute, and then they went inside.

“Where’s your bathroom?” Lucas asked.

“Down the hall, first door on the left.”

“Thanks!” He said running down the hall.

She was in the living room looking for something when he finished in the bathroom and came up behind her, giving her a hug on her waist.

“Hey.” She said with a smile on her face and his arms still around her.

“Hey.” He said with a grin.

They stood there for about a minute just staring into each others eyes, and then Lucas kissed Hanna.

The End
