Unexpected Friend.Mature

The bell rang, signaling that it was time for lunch.
I slowly walked out of class and put my hat on so I wouldn't get sunburnt.
As I walked along the footpath that lead to the playground, I could see other kids sitting down and enjoying their lunches while chatting to their friends and even swapping eathothers food.
At the moment I felt like an outcast, a lone child living in a shadow where as others were happily enjoying their moments of simple joys and delights.

I picked up my pace and continued my walk to the play ground. Finally reaching the playground, I jumped up onto the monkey bars and sat on  the top of  them and watched as everyone in the school still sat and enjoyed their lunch.
The wind whipped at my back, causing me to shiver. I hooked my feet through the rungs of the monkey bars and tucked my arms insdie my t-shirt to keep warm.
I was sitting there enjoying it when I heard kids come running up to the playground. Before they could reach the monkey bars I scuttled off of them and ran off the playground and went and sat under a tree to watch them play.

"Why are you over here by yourself?" A girls voice asked from beside me. I turned to her and watched her warily. The girl had long black hair in plaits, chubby arms, legs and face, curious brown eyes and a small smile on her lips. I eyed her clothes, from her clean baby pink top to her dark blue jeans and new sandals.
"I like being alone." I said to her quietly. She grinned and sat down next to me.

"My name is Tania by the way." She said as she looked at me.
I cleared my throat and licked my dress lips. "I'm Lara." I said to her.
She nodded and continued to grin at me. I squirmed and pulled my hat down over my eyes.
Tania reached over and took my hat off. I jumped and shied away from her. Her smile slipped off of her face.
"Give my hat back please." I said. She handed it back to me with a look of confusion.
I snatched it off of her and ran away and his in the senior girls toilets until the bell rang to go to class.

The End
