The War of the Crystals

Recommend

It was dark and the air was cool.  The Crystal Wolf walked through the darkness. She had blue eyes and was all white. She was gorgeous. She had crystals all over her.  She sniffed the air, preparing herself for anything.  The darkness was not very comforting.  She was of the light.  She was the leader of many warriors in her army.

Suddenly, The Crystal Wolf heard something rustle the bushes.  She prepared for the attack that would probably come.  Something popped up from the bushes.  It was only one of her snipers hiding to attack the enemy.  She breathed a deep sigh of relief.

“What are your directions, General Ma-am?” he asked her, bowing.

“Has anything happened?” the Crystal Wolf asked.

“No one has come yet, General ma-am.”  He was a short young man, and wore moccasins on his feet.  He wore a kimono that was green and brown to blend in with the bushes.  He was about twenty-five. His name was Peter and he had red hair. His bangs covered his forehead.

“You look like you were surprised,” Peter said.

“Just…just a little,” replied the Crystal Wolf.  “Peter, you know that they want to get you now,” said the Crystal Wolf.  “Radio for your troops to come out of hiding.  Its time turn in for the day.

“Yes, General Ma-am.”  Peter took out a little radio and called his troops.  They came in a short amount of time.

“We’re going back know,” she said.  “What are you wearing?” she said to one of the troops.  He was wearing a highlight orange coat with highlight yellow pants and highlight blue shoes, and a purple highlight hat, and he had painted his skin highlight pink.

“People are going to notice you easily.”  The Crystal Wolf looked him up and down sternly.

“S-s-s-sorry Crystal Wolf, I-I mean, G-G-General Ma-am,” the soldier stammered.  His name was Ryan, but everyone called him Skippy because his tongue always skipped over his words.  He wasn’t a very orderly soldier.

“Why did you paint your skin with highlight paint?  And your clothes?  That’s a major waste of supplies.”

“W-w-well, I…I guess I t-thought it was p-pretty?”

“Put this on,” the Crystal Wolf said in exasperation.  Another soldier gave the Crystal Wolf a camouflage outfit and she took gently in her teeth and handed to Skippy.  He thanked her nervously and slipped back into the cover of the bushes.  The other soldiers except for Peter glared at Skippy as he slipped away.  They all hated to see the Crystal Wolf disappointed.

The Crystal Wolf sighed in annoyance.  Peter tried not to laugh.  The Crystal Wolf carried on.  Peter followed her.  She walked elegantly through the grass.

“We’re almost done for the day,” the Crystal Wolf commented.  They arrived at camp.

“Get some rest,” she said gently, “You need your strength for tomorrow, in case the enemy attacks.”

A soldier came up to her.

“I got some plans for battle tactics.” He said.  He was one of their commanders.  He led them into one of the tents that were scattered around the camp and laid his plans on a little table in the corner of the tent, sighing heavily.  It had five thin legs that were very beautiful with crystal wrapped like a vine around them.  The Crystal Wolf had done this to remind them of their fancy homes.  There was a lamp on the table that flickered so that she could just barely see the plans.

“Shall we put my plans into the schedule tomorrow, General?”

“Sure, let’s see what you have here.”

They discussed the plans far into the night, and soon the Crystal Wolf was very tired, as well as the Commander.  The Commander and the Crystal Wolf went to bed at last.
