I woke up this morning with a sense of wonder and adventure. Today is going to be the first time in a while that I haven't been on my own. No more talking to myself, and no I'm not crazy. It'll just be a nice change to have other people to talk to for once. Elliwyn in particular... Talking to her will be... Well in lack of a more descriptive term, perfect. Even better, shes journeying with me. Maybe I could save her from danger at some point? I need to do something to make her notice. Gah! Why am I feeling like this. Drow aren't supposed to give into their emotions so easily...
After strapping my armor on, I decided to make my way to the bar. A couple drinks while Elliwyn slept wouldn't hurt anything. As I was about to order a drink, I heard a deep, burly voice from behind me.
"Duncan! Would ye be so kind as to pour a couple drinks for me and my pointy-eared friend here?" The dwarf asked.
"I'm an elf too ya short little bastard. 10 gold pieces."
"Aye, aye. Sounds fair."
I turned to look at the dwarf and said, "Those vines didn't leave any rashes did they?"
"No, no, just me pride is wounded."
"Then we'll have to remedy it with mead, I've still got a few hours to kill til Elliwyn wakes up."
"Aye, mead is my remedy for everything! To the long life of Bruenor Battlehammer!" The dwarf said as he raised his mug.
"I don't know who that is but I'll raise my cup to him just the same!" I shouted as we downed our first of many cups.
Duncan took this time to speak up, "Why don't we see who's the manlier of you two, free of charge. I'll keep the drinks coming, stronger and stronger, and you two see who can last longer."
"I'm game." said the dwarf.
"As am I," I said, "But first, I never got your name..."
"Well, Bromir... Bottoms up!"
