Blood flowed from the edges of his mouth. I dug my face into his shoulder, propped him up and cried. It was all because of me. All of it. I should have just gone and helped him. My hands moved to his neck where the cut remained. I put my hands around him and hugged him tightly. I can't believe I let him die!
"Uh, what are you doing?" I was imagining things. He possible couldn't be a live. Or was I in heaven too? I felt someone's hand reach out and touch my hair. I moved my head back and saw Seth staring at me. He touched his neck. The marks were gone. He moved his hand to my hair and touched it. "Why is it dark red?" I noticed that the aura was around both of us.
"I cured you," I whispered. We looked at each other, not moving… Until he cleared his throat and looked at my hands which were wrapped around his neck, sort of tying us together. I immediately let go. I felt my cheeks burn up. He looked at his t-shirt which was sort of soggy because I had cried in it.
He said mockingly, "So, what the girls said was true, huh?"
"What are you talking about?" I mumbled.
"They all came to me and started saying you liked me."
"WHAT?!" I yelled getting up, brushing the dust off my jeans. The aura melted away. I knew Seth was teasing me but still…"I do like you," I said. Seth looked really surprised as he took hold of my hand and pulled himself up using it. "As a friend," I added.
"Mm-hmm," he hummed sarcastically.
"It's true!" I argued.
"Yeah…" He dragged.
"What about you, mister? You've been acting all Mr. Nice Guy to me these past few days!" I snapped at him. He hesitated. I thought I saw dots of pink on his cheeks but Seth never blushes.
"Well that's because….my mom told me to!"
"First of all, your mom's dead, and second of all, uh-huh…" I said sardonically.
There was a long uncomfortable silence. Seth finally broke it by saying, "What's with your hair?"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Your hair," he repeated, taking a few strands of my hair and pushing it in front of my face. It was a lighter shade of purple and there were traces of red in it. I held my breath and the last thing I said before fainting was, "Oh crap!"
