Just as I follow Elliot into the entrance of the deli shop, he grabs me by the shoulder. My eyes widen with surprise and it takes every bit of my restraint to keep myself from kissing him. Swallowing back the longing, I stare into his eyes, imagining what it would be like to date him.
Still gripping my shoulder tightly, he stares straight at me, as if nothing else matters to him right now. "Is something wrong, dude?" He asks, suddenly looking worried. He narrows his eyes, still staring at me. "You look ready to pass out."
I shake my head no, rolling my shoulder out of his grip. 'You have to shake this off. You can't let him know. You have to keep it a secret.'
"Alright," he says with a shrug.
He turns his attention to the menu behind the counter. Taking this as my chance, I stare at him, studying every inch of his face and body. 'Oh God, why does he have to be so damn sexy?'
After ordering our food, we settle down at a two-seated table in the front window of the shop.
Eating lunch was like spending time with a normal friend. We got our food, sat down, and joked around for awhile while we ate. I tried my best not to be too obvious with my liking. I simply focused myself on the food and acted as much like a straight guy as possible.
Unfortunately, my acting sucks and soon enough, I find myself struggling. Out of panic, I tell Elliot that I have to go and then get up and leave. He nods a goodbye to me and then goes back to eating his sandwich.
The bell on the deli shop door rings as it shuts behind me. As I pass by the window that Elliot and I were sitting in, I can't help but glance sideways to see if he's still there. Sure enough, he's sitting in the same spot that I left him in, busily munching on his sandwich.
"I love you," I whisper quietly under my breath. Tearing my gaze away from him, I glance down at my watch. 11:59. I'll have three hours alone at home by the time I get there.
'That actually sounds really good,' I think to myself. It's been a good while since I've had a long period of time to myself. Thus, I pick up my pace and hurry to my house.
