Soon enough, the half our passes and before I know it, someone's knocking on the front door. Since I'm in my bedroom, my father answers the door.
"Hello," I hear him say as he opens the door.
There's a moment of silence, and then Elliot speaks. "Hey."
"Are you Elliot?" My dad asks. He sounds rather suspicious, and I'm guessing looks the same way.
Getting up, I walk downstairs. I didn't really want my dad starting an entire inquiry on Elliot right before we went out for dinner. 'I still can't believe he asked me out.'
"Hey Camilla," Elliot says when I appear at my father's side in the doorway. He's grinning at me, still wearing the same clothes he had on at school.
"Can we go now, dad?" I ask, glancing sideways at him. He nods, though he looks rather reluctant on letting me.
"Thank you, Mr. Flemming. We'll be back in an hour or two," Elliot says, speaking in what sounds to be his "I'm talking to an adult" voice.
"Keep safe," dad tells us, patting me on the shoulder as we walk away.
Since neither of us can drive a car, we have to walk to Pizza Hut instead. Above us, the sun beats down for the last few hours of the day. Then it will set and the moon will come out in it's place. Around us, a few people mill around, but there aren't many people so we don't have troubles getting through on the sidewalks.
"Are you alright?" He asks, staring worriedly at me.
'No,' I think, panicking inside. This is the first time I've ever been on... whatever this is considered... with a guy. Or anyone, actually. 'I don't even know if this is a date or not.'
"I um... I'm fine," I mumble. Our eyes catch and I force myself to look away. "Just hungry, that's all."
"Well, we're here, so your time of hunger is over now," he says, motioning his hand towards the building in front of us. The delicious smell of pizza floats through the front door as he holds it open and watches me walk inside before following me.
'I wonder what this is going to lead to,' I think silently.
