Chapter Seven: Running
A dark laugh sounded from the corner of my messy, scruffy room. I gasped at the sound, too frightened to be relaxed.
"Wh-who's there?" I asked quietly, hoping they were nice.
I decided that they obviously weren't.
"Look, if you don't come out, I'm going to come to you, and beat you to a bloody pulp. If you do- well, I'll beat you to a bloody pulp, but oh well." I shouted to the darkness.
No answer.
Three men with guns and speacial-agent type suits on ran into my room, shouting orders. I frowned,
"What's wrong? I could kill this guy." I stated with a laugh.
"He's an oracle; unkillable. He tells the future, but he never dies. And he is extremely annoying!" The man said in a serious voice. I backed away a bit.
I saw two guards pulling a fidgeting man from the darkness. He looked crazy.
"Beware! Beware of the men in blue! The police! They'll get to you! You cannot escape without running! You'll di-"
"None of your nonsense." One of the guards muttered.
I couldn't just ignore the crazy-oracle-type-guy's prediction. I had to do something, and like he said, running was obviously my only option.
