I sat across from David, my fingers drumming on the chair.
"I guess you want me to interigate Hutton?"
David shook his head. "No. I can already see you're too sympathetic with the subject. I'm sending in Frost."
I raised and eyebrow in question. "Frost? You think a man is going to be more effective than a woman?"
"You said it yourself....Hutton is a family man. You, my dear, though you are oh so good at gettin men to fall at your feet are already at a disadvantage where he is conserned. But Frost has an easy manner about him. He'll get Jack to open up, even trust him. And then..."
"And then you hand the poor man out to dry."
David shrugged. "The needs of the many...."
"The needs of the many? More like exactly what you want to do and to hell with the consequences."
"I'm just doing my job, Janice," David's tone indicated I was getting close to crossing a line.
"You don't have to enjoy it so damn much." I muttered just loud enough so that he could hear.
