Chapter 4: Advantages of Not Wearing ShoesMature

The group walked along the road for about an hour or two, and Aria's stomach began to growl. She frowned. "Hey, mind if we stop for a few minutes. I'm getting hungry."

The group decided to stop, but Aria walked off on her own. Fujitsu followed her, and found that she was climbing a tree. "Aria, what ARE you doing?"

"Gathering fruit."

"But..." Fujitsu stammered. "That tree is nearly a column going up and down! How are you climbing that?"

"Ever wonder why I never wear shoes, or socks for that matter?" Aria asked, seeming to change the subject.

"Well, I just thought it was for preference." Fujitsu answered. "But that doesn't answer my question... ARE YOU A GENIE TOO?!"

"No, no!" Aria giggled. "The reason I don't wear shoes is because then I can get a better grip on things. It also improves my traction when I'm in the middle of a fight, and yes, for preference... I simply don't like wearing shoes because they feel constricting."

For a moment, Fujitsu was silent. Then he asked, "Have you been trained by a martial artist or something?"

"No, it's just something I learned on my own." Aria remarked, grabbing the delicious fruit from the top of the tree and tossing them down to Fujitsu. Then she slid down the tree herself and jumped off with the grace of a cat, landing on her feet and standing upright almost immediately, almost scaring Fujitsu. And she began to laugh.

"That's enough for now. We can eat as we walk." Aria stated, before walking back to the main group.
