Chapter 1: Plans and Gambits
Escartes Castle - Corridor
Aria got up, as did Fujitsu. Fujitsu smiled. "You're back to normal!"
Aria raised an eyebrow. "Huh? I've been normal for a while now."
Fujitsu scratched his head. "Really? I was sure you shrunk down to the size of a tick and I was looking through the carpet for you."
Aria stared blankly at him, and then started to laugh. Fujitsu was a bit confused. "Why are you laughing?"
Aria breathed. "Here I thought you lost a contact lense!" She fell over laughing. Fujitsu shrugged.
"Glad I could amuse you. Should we meet up with the others?" Fujitsu asked, stretching his hand to help her up.
Aria grabbed ahold of it and smiled. "Yeah."

Xeranad awoke with a start. What was that? he thought. He pushed that aside. He had things to do. He felt that these so called heroes could possibly prove to make things... interesting. He wanted to keep a closer eye on them.
He closed his eyes and began to recite the summons. "Dark Abyss, offer to me one of the tortured souls of Gehenna. Infuse it with my life energy and bind it to my flesh so that it may walk among us in this physical realm. Immaculate one, appear before me... now!" Upon reciting these words, a great effusion of spiritual energy gathered in an orb of light in front of Xeranad. He focused his mind and spirit into the orb, and the orb changed into a tiny humanoid with insect wings. Instantly, the light dissipated and the tiny creature now had flesh and life.
Xeranad held out his right hand, and the creature flew into his hand. "A fairy familiar should do nicely for the mission I have in mind. You still need a name... how about Serena?" The fairy smiled at her master, happy with the name given to her.
Xeranad brought her close to his face. "Now, listen, Serena. I want you to keep an eye on four young heroes for me. They are a bandit girl, a swordsman, a man in golden armor, and a lamia with curly blue hair. Start to the north in the land called Escartes. Understand?" Serena nodded, eager to prove herself to her master.
Xeranad lifted his hand, and Serena flew off towards Escartes.
