Chapter 3.3

Elizabeth threw herself onto the bed and cried. Arguing over chips? What had become of her? All of her feelings that were bottled up inside her were screaming to pop out. She wanted to vent to someone. She wanted company. She wanted to get off of this helhole of a ship. She wanted to go home.

There was a knock on the door.

“Go away.”

It was Jake.

“Go away.”

“Elizabeth! What’s wrong?”

“I said go away!”

The door flew open and Jake walked in.

“Go away!”

“Look. I’m sorry for yelling at you for the chips. I didn’t mean to hurt you like that. I just... I... I just haven’t talked to anyone from the outside before...” He trailed off, sitting down next to her. He shook his head sadly. He looked at Elizabeth, who was still rolled up in a ball on the bed.

Elizabeth slowly uncurled herself.

“Yes?” She said with a little sniff.

“I’m sorry. Really.”

Jake reached over and wiped off a tear from her face. Elizabeth managed a small smile.

“Apology accepted.”

The End
