“It’s not there’s something wrong with you,” a soft voice behind her made her jump. “You just don’t understand who you are and why you’re so important.”
She spun around, blinking tears from her eyes. “Who I am?”
“Correct, Stacy. Think back as far as you can. What can you tell me about your childhood?” he smiled a feint smile as he sat down on the ground in front of her.
“Who are you? Where did you come from?” she said nervously looking around.
“I’m sorry. I should have introduced myself first. I’m Frank. Frank Hobbinson of the 2nd Order. I’m here to answer your questions and begin your training,” he said with a slight bow of his head.
“Training? What are you talking about?” Stacy clenched one hand into a fist and didn’t notice a nearby tree twisting and contorting into a mutilated shape.
“Careful. That tree provides food and shelter for thousands of Nature’s children, birds, squirrels, moles, insects. So many of Her children need that tree.” He had a slight pained look on his face as he spoke.
