The Rainmature

She dances in the rain,
hoping for a miracle
to wash away her pain.
She exposes her soul to the world,
knowing there is nothing left to gain.
cold, exposed and silent,
her heart stops beating,
she closes her eyes, and disappears.
Wherever she goes,
her sorrow follows,
her desire to win, loses,
and as a last resort,
she grasps a knife.
Waiting for the moment
when her pain matters,
and that of the others,
is gone from her mind.
She grasps the sweet relief,
holding her head high
for once again
her soul is clean,
as her blood dirties the streets
