This is crazy

I got a phone call from mum at around half five. She said she would be late home. I couldn't wait that long to go and talk to the others. I ran down the stairs into the living room.

"Reuben, I've got to go out," i said, "I've got to explain everyting to the others, sort it all out."

"I'll come too," he said, jumping up.

"No, no," i said "I have to be there quick, and I'm not sure how they'll take you, seeing as your not one of us."

"I don't care," he said, "you might need me to explain things."

"I'm sure I'll be fine," I said. After another five minutes of arguing, I had to give in because there was little time to waste.

"Okay fine, wait here," I snapped, and ran back upstairs and into my brothers room. He was away at university, so the room was cold and half empty. I rifled through the drawers until i found some warm clothes to give to Reuben. I ran back down the stairs again and threw them to him.

"Put them on," I said, "quickly," He picked them up, and started pulling them on. I went into the little cupboard and grabbed the spare keys off the hook. "Ready?" I asked when I got back to the living room.

"What's the hurry?" he asked, following me out of the front door.

"We're busy people," I replied and then added, "Have you ever ridden a horse?" I asked.

"Uh yeah, a few times back home," he replied. "Why?"

We rounded the corner of the house, and a paddock came into view, with a startlingly white horse grazing in the middle.

"This is Silver," I replied. Silver came cantering over when he heard my voice. I opened up the little shed and quickly threw his saddle on, and his bridle.

"Okay, get on," i said. When Reuben was safely in the saddle I opened the gate and let Silver out. He trotted gracefully out and stamped in a little circle.

"Follow me," I said, and shifting easily into my wolf form. It was easy enough now. In the beginning it had taken concentration and effort. Reuben didn't look to shocked, so i headed down the path. I heard the hooves behind me, and sometimes saw little glimmers of white. I ran at the same pace as Silver's gallop, so we didn't lose any time. I was worried about Reuben at first, but he seemed comfortable enough.

The End
