Sound, and for that matter any vibrational energy, can be measured in three ways. By amplitude, or volume. By frequency, or pitch. And finally, by duration.
Three measurements. Three dimensions.
Henry had assumed that the Pulse had encoded within itself a communication of words. Now he realized that the communication was actually a diagram.
Henry plotted out the Pulse’s sequence on his computer. When he finished, he showed it to Aaron.
“How did you come up with this?” Aaron asked. He was an engineering student, but Henry’s blueprint bewildered him.
“You wouldn’t believe it if I told you.” Henry replied. “What do you make of it?”
Aaron pored over the details of the blueprint. “It’s a machine of some sort. But it’s way ahead of its time. This is Tesla type stuff.”
That made Henry laugh. Nikola Tesla was rumored to have gotten many of his most advanced ideas from extraterrestrials.
“Can we build it?” Henry asked.
“We’ll have to bring more people into this…”
