This is a debate forum, but I'm not really debating anything, I'm just curious. I am a person who owns an original "brick" cell phone, it doesn't text, it doesn't take pictures, or get the Internet. It makes and receives telephone calls. Period. I understand that there is an entire language involved in texting, but I don't speak it. This short form language and symbols has mutated onto the Internet.
I get emails with things like : lol, (: bff , as well as many others I can't think of just now. Is there a site with an introductory course in this texting language, where spelling, punctuation, and apparently common sense doesn't count?
I'm probably not going to start texting any time soon, but it would be nice if I could interpret some of the emails I get from my young nieces and nephews. I'd be grateful for any form of enlightenment in this area, because according to my youngest niece, who is all of 20 years old, I'm still living in the dark ages.
