Don't Ask. Just Believe.

Oh, religion. Gotta love  a group of 12 year olds cussing each other out over opinions. That, also, has happened to me. You see, I am an atheist. I do not believe in a deity, heaven, hell, angels, or the devil. When you die, nothing happens. Now, don't throw the book across the room or send me hate mail. It is an OPINION. Back to the story . . . At my school, the Christians dominate. We have F.C.A posting crosses and stuff all over. There are, however, many different religions floating around. I personally know people who are Agnostic, Atheist, Jewish, and Islam. We all get teased for it. We all get out faith questioned and our theories tested. Even my own family does that to me. At school, though, I remember sitting at lunch with my "friends" at the time. Somehow, God came up. I scoffed and looked away, not wanting to have any part in it. I said nothing and avoided the people, not wanting to get involved. They proceeded to take my ignoring them as a "bad thing" and tried to "save" me and convert me. They brought Bibles to school every day. They made people read verses out loud to me and sweet talk me into it. I never crumbled and, because I didn't, they have disassociated with me. Fine by me. I guess what I'm trying to say is, parents: teach your kids how to be respectful of other religions and opinions, and let them make up their own mind about what religion they want to follow. Introduce them to your religion, then talk about others. Research them. I do. And kids: shut your mouth and listen. People have good points. Don't expect everything to always go your way. It won't. Get over it and move on.

The End
