The nearest town was 24 miles away. It'd be a long walk but I decided to start it.

I hauled my coat over my head to shield me from the adverse weather conditions and just focused on the road ahead. There were no pavements and I had to dive onto the nettle-covered embankment every time a car approached.

I must have done three miles, maybe four, when I saw a road sign before me.

"Thank goodness," I thought. "Civilisation." I carried on a bit further and arrived at a t-junction. There was a disused petrol station and a community hall along the side of the road. I decided

to seek shelter in the disused petrol station
