Tanaka seemed surprised to see Darcy waiting for him at the end of his class, Drew beside her.
"Hey, Darce." Looking over at the shorter girl, he added, "and Drewie."
The younger student pouted. "I told you not to call me that."
The Japanese boy rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah."
Butting in, Darcy asked the obvious question. "So, how do you two know each other?"
Tanaka grinned and pulled Drew over to his side, wrapping an arm around her shoulders like a protective older brother. "She's my little sister."
Drew pinched his side. "I'm not actually related to this doofus. We've just acted like siblings for who knows how long. It kept us sane."
Darcy raised her eyebrows. "Yeah, I'm not sure that you two are anywhere near sane."
That started yet another squabble, and the brunette cackled to herself.
